Born and raised in a small rural Kentucky town, I broke with tradition and attended college to pursue a Bachelors degree in accounting. With several years in the accounting field under my belt, I didn’t find my job meaningful or fulfilling. After a little soul searching, and a lot of support from my husband, I went back to school to follow my dreams of becoming a chef. After thirty-six months of hard work I received an Associates degree in Culinary Arts. I gave up my day job and devoted myself to working and learning everything I could in a well known fine dining establishment. Fast forward four years later, I still love cooking! With my life experience, I have a desire to teach others how to cook, how to eat, and how to do so in a healthy way-ways that don’t involve a microwave or a frozen entrée. I want to show others how to live a healthy life and enjoy good food; food not obtained from the drive-thru window. I make this trip with you. This has been a journey a long time in the making.
